The lawyers of VanNiekerkCieremans have over 70 years’ combined knowledge and experience of civil liability and insurance. They put this to use for clients in providing advisory services, negotiating and, when necessary, conducting litigation and other proceedings before civil courts, administrative courts, disciplinary tribunals, arbitration institutes and mediators. Clients engage us to discuss prevention, carry out dispute analyses, conduct litigation and alternative dispute resolution and, above all, to make matters better rather than worse.

Our clients include insurers, reinsurers, insurance brokers, intermediaries and national and international companies. We advise and litigate in cases concerning practically all kinds of claims and insurance cover for them under policies of all kinds. Using our expertise and extensive experience in these fields, we assist insurers and intermediaries entering the Dutch insurance and intermediary market, advise on how best to arrange and rearrange insurance portfolios, and help insurance providers and clients with issues involving national and international insurance schemes.

On a day-to-day basis, we handle cases involving professional, directors’ and product liability, fire and fire recourse cases, CAR and technical damage, company liability, fraud, industrial accidents and occupational diseases. We understand the complex procedures involving national and international interests and many different claimants, insurers, reinsurers, insured persons, loss adjusters and legal and other advisors. Furthermore, we are discrete and proficient in handling media coverage.

Our lawyers have up to 33 years’ experience and his or her own area of expertise and interests. Cases are therefore always handled at the proper level, and naturally always in consultation with the client. To enable clients to keep their legal costs under control, we supply them with timely and itemised invoices, inform them well in advance how we propose to approach the case and record our shared expectations and agreements on the financial aspects.
